dog walking Atlanta Georgia boutique pet care woman owned business

It all started with my Boykin named Birdie (that’s right - the big celeb namesake behind Birdie’s Furry Friends!) Like many pet owners, I absolutely adore my pup and in order for me to trust someone else to take care of her, I really need peace of mind knowing she is being well taken care of when I am away.

Over the course of a year, I tried several different facilities around Atlanta for both daycare and overnight care, and never quite felt the level of security I would have preferred for my fur baby. Lack of communication, people leaving the animals alone at the boarding facility all night, not enough 1:1 time with the dogs - all of it led me to feeling frustrated with the lack of options around Atlanta.

At the same time, I was in search of my next professional move. Since graduating from University of North Georgia, I was working mainly in property management. I had been fortunate enough to dive into the professional world of interior design, another passion of mine - and was craving that sort of creativity and passion towards my work again. Meanwhile, I was helping a few friends out and walking their dogs while they were working. It hit me. (or was that Birdie’s tennis ball again…?) I was going to combine my love for animals and pet-care with my business acumen and open up my own pet care, dog walking, and boarding business. Enter: Birdie’s Furry Friends.

I quit my job, built out an in-depth business plan, hired some of the best animal caretakers in the city, and launched Birdie’s Furry Friends in 2021. We have been growing ever since and have plans to expand even more in the coming year!

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions. We want to make sure you feel as comfortable as possible when trusting us with the care of your fur babies!

Thank you all for your support.
